    Description

I acquired this at an auction and was told that it came from the estate of an individual who had spent most of his life working in carnivals--I wish I had more details but this is all I have found out.
This is a portable Calliope with 44 keys and 44 brass pipes. It has a 110 volt  motor which powers the blower. Everything appears to be complete (but very dusty). A couple of the hoses have come loose but all the rest appear to be in place.  The keys are sticky, with tape holding two together.  I'm sure all the small hoses should be replaced. This is very heavy, it is 36" wide, 24" deep and 66" tall.
I plugged the caliope into a wall outlet, and because the keys are stuck, it makes a terrible wailing sound! It really seemed to irritate all the neighborhood dogs. The pipes alone weigh 40 to 50 lbs.
This would be a fun project, but I'm running out of time and space for projects.  Time for somebody else to have fun with this.
This is for local pickup only --I'm willing to assist your chosen shipper, given sufficient advance notice.
    Now, for the fine print:
I'm not an expert on many of the items I sell on eBay. I try and do a good job of listing everything I sell in an accurate manner to explain all the good and bad points with the pictures and the description. Please feel free to ask any and all questions. I will even answer questions which are already answered in the description, although your intelligence may be questioned.  I am 100% certain that no NEEDS any of the items that I sell to fulfill any of the basic needs of life. With that said, I am selling these items for the money, and if you don't intend to pay, please bid on items owned by someone else.
I do not end auctions early--its not fair to the other bidders.  Most of the items I sell come from estates and I sell them in "as found condition" --I leave any cleaning or "enhancement" to the buyer.  Please check all the pictures --they are probably the most important part of the description.
If there is a problem with an item your purchase from me, let me know immediately. I'm sure we can work it out to your satisfaction.
Occasionally, eBay calculates some wildly inflated estimates for shipping costs. If the estimate doesn't look right, please contact me for confirmation.
I normally use USPS Priority Mail for shipping.  I never charge more than the actual postage cost.  If you are outside the United States, I require that you utilize eBays Global Shipping Program.
