Description
Vintage Pair Baum Brothers Formalities Yellow and Blue Ginger Jars Chinoiserie.Baum Brothers is synonymous with beautiful china decorative accents and accessories in home decor. Maurice Baum started his company in the mid 1800's and was a producer/distributor of fine silver products. The company was succeeded by his sons, Louis and David into the 1950s. They incorporated Baum Brothers in 1904. By 1953, Baum Brothers became leaders in the importing, designing, distribution and manufacturing of fine home accents, accessories and china. The company relocated from England to New York, 1946.
This offering of two beautiful ginger jars is the epitome of what Baum Brothers is all about. They offer modern and traditional home accents with appeal to multi-generations. These pieces are a more modern take on the traditional ginger jars, as they have a more geometric design with edges. The glaze is a pale crackle yellow with blue cabbage roses spread throughout. With an interesting twist, they have a chocolate top. These pieces are in very good vintage condition. There are glaze anomalies, which do not affect the look of the pieces. They are on the heavier side which gives them a solid look. The color and roses give the piece a feminine feel while the geometric shape compliments with a more masculine design. The best of both worlds. I procured these at an estate sale and was pleased to acquire them. They would look lovely in any room's decor. Stamp of Baum Brothers, Made in China on bottom.
