Vintage Large Chinese Gilt Porcelain Floor Vase & Stand 48"

Description

Beautiful large Chinese porcelain floor vase.  On the stand it measures 47.5" high.  The stand raises it 10".  That means that the vase itself is about 37" tall.  The mouth of the vase is 14" and the diameter at the widest point is about 17".
The scenes are beautifully and skillfully painted with lots of detail and colors.  The parts of the vase not otherwise painted are painted with gold, with a pattern.  It is a truly spectacular piece.  We have displayed it in an entrance and in a living room.
We bought this in the 90s from an importer of both antique and new Chinese and other Asian goods, a person from whom Neta also bought antique items for her antiques store.
This was made by the Royai Satsuma company in China.  The scenes are Japanese, of course, as this is in imitation of the famous Satsuma porcelains from Japan.  It is NOT an antique Satsuma piece, but a piece of quality porcelain in that style.
Nevertheless, it is a quality piece of art that fits well with any décor.   Learn to buy beautiful things because you like them, rather than because other people have put a high price on them.
