    Description

    This is U.S. Scott #1908, the 20-Cent Fire Pumper Stamp with plate #14 and a RARE PURPLE MACHINE CANCEL (PMC).   Very, VERY few of these were cancelled with a PMC.  The Plate Number Coil Collector's Club (PNC3) PMC Values List has this one for .00.  This copy is USED and the centering is VERY FINE (VF).   (See the scan for precise centering.)  This a damaged  copy with a pulled perf and several nibbed perfs on the right edge.   So it's a space filler, but it might be the only copy you can find.   Due to the damage, it's priced accordingly.
