    Victorian Trade Card WOONSOCKET "ARCTICS" - RUBBER BOOTS [Woonsocket Rubber Company - Woonsocket, RI] 3.5 x 5.5" medium-weight card stock.Chromo-lithograph with a caption on the front, ad text on the back. Undated - but c. late 1800s and likely c. 1890. The Woonsocket Rubber Company was formed in 1867 initially to produce rubber for the clothes wringers of the Bailey Wringer Company, but they soon branched out and shortly became manufacturers of some of the finest rubber boots and shoes of the era - and for a time they were said to be the largest rubber importer in the USA. The chromo is vivid and shows two boys sledding down a snowy slope. CONDITION: Very Good.  The back has moderate uniform age-yellowing/staining. Overall crisp and bright.
