    Description

Up for sale is a Homecoming Scotland 2009 edition of THE BROON'S' BURNS NIGHT scrapbook style Composition Notebook. This edition was published as part of the Homecoming Celebrations in 2009 and celebrated Robert Burns' 259 birthday. I purchased this new on my trip to Scotland that summer and have saved it unread as a collectible.
The Broons (in English The Browns) is a comic strip in Scots published in the weekly Scottish newspaper The Sunday Post. It features the Brown family, who live in a tenement flat at 10 Glebe Street in (since the late 1990s) the fictional Scottish town of Auchentogle or Auchenshoogle..
This book is printed in the style of an old school exercise book filled with scraps, contains some of the cartoon strips as well as the recipes and poems that make Burns night special. The format includes the Selkirk Grace (attributed to Burns), the address to the haggis (which he did write) and quite a few recipes.
Join Maw, Paw and the rest of the residents of 10 Glebe Street as they celebrate Burns Night in their own inimitable way. Packed with mouthwatering recipes such as skirlie, clapshot, and champit tatties with syboes, this braw book also includes poetry and comments from all the family. It includes photos showing how the family have celebrated the national event over the years. This unique scrapbook-style format contains an essay about Burns night by Horace, years of Broons Burns Night memories, family snaps, poems and comments from all the family and Maws special Burns Night recipes.

Written in a quirky manner to resemble the usual dog eared notebook that we all keep somewhere in the house to remind us of "how to" carry out family gatherings and festivities, this book should appeal to both those looking for "colour" and those actually observing a "Burns Nicht Supper".
