  • Condition: The carafe is in good condition no chips or cracks in the glass, there is an area of wear from usage on one side of the glass near the bottom (does not detract greatly. The silver frame is in good condition, except for the lid; there is an 1" area of silver loss near the tip of the handle, and another area of silver loss on the right side of the lid. (These do not detract greatly on the overall appearance of the carafe). The frame fits well there is a little side to side movement where the lid is attached the the frame. Really super piece which would look great as a centerpiece of Steamship china.

    STEAMSHIP-DOLLAR STEAMSHIP CO.1928 GLASS WATER CARAFE WITH SILVER SOLDERED FRAME
    Offered today is a glass water carafe with silver frame from the Dollar Steamship Co. The frame is marked on the back just below the handle, "Property of Dollar S.S. Co., International Silver Silver Soldered". There is also a number 05002, and a date code of 1928. Also inside the lid and on the inside of the frame is the number 52. The carafe is approx. 9 1/2" tall and 6" wide near the bottom of the glass. The carafe is in good condition no chips or cracks in the glass, there is an area of wear from usage on one side of the glass near the bottom (does not detract greatly. The silver frame is in good condition, except for the lid; there is an 1" area of silver loss near the tip of the handle, and another area of silver loss on the right side of the lid.
