RMS EMPRESS OF ASIA - SUNK 1942

Description

A rubber stamp cacheted cover from the Canadian Pacific Steamship RMS EMPRESS OF ASIA machine cancelled in Manila on May 8, 1930.
When WW 2 broke out the British Admiralty acquired the ship and converted her into an armed merchant cruiser and troop transport. She was sunk off Singapore by IJN aircraft on Feb 5, 1942.
The rear flap is not sealed. There are no postal markings on the back.
