In the yuan and Ming Dynasties, the sword casting industry was inherited in Longquan. Because of its excellent shape and quality, Longquan sword was widely favored by martial arts lovers and art connoisseurs. The craftsmen of the sword made great efforts in the quality, packaging and cultural connotation of the sword, which further developed the unique technology of Longquan sword.
In the 19th year of the Republic of China, Longquan sword was rated as the best sword in the national art competition. Longquan sword has a strong reputation in Southeast China and its products are sold all over the country, reaching the peak of sword making industry in the period of the Republic of China.
