A complete set of 25 color 35mm slides produced in 1965 by the VEB DEUTSCHE SEEREDEREI ROSTOCK, and sold on board the MS VÖLKERFREUNDSCHAFT
which was
formerly the Swedish liner
MS
STOCKHOLM of 1948 - the ship which in 1956 collided with and sank the Italian Liner ANDREA DORIA.  Apart from a new bow section which replaced the one sheared off when the ship (as MS Stockholm) ploughed into the Doria's side, t
he MS Völkerfreundschaft was virtually unaltered from her life as the STOCKHOLM. The ship has gone through many new owners and names over the years and is now the recently laid up
MV Astoria.
Today the ship is
virtually unrecognizable as the original Stockholm, having been totally rebuilt.
These high-quality, clear and sharp images of her interiors and exteriors, are thus a unique opportunity to see the ship as she originally was. Comes with a sheet of explanations for all 25 slide images.
