Mauchline Photograph Ware Oval Brooch Scallop Edge Alloway Kirk Land of Burns

I have the honor and privilege of selling the collection of an avid and discerning collector of Mauchline Ware consisting of transfer, checker, Parian and tartan ware with a smattering of a few other finishes. I will be listing them in bite size batches over the next several months so that over time collectors can absorb the depth and breadth of the collection. This gentleman amassed an amazing collection of pieces, some of which I have never seen before and I have seen many collectors' collections over the years. This scallop edged oval brooch has a large photograph of Alloway Kirk and though it is impossible to read the lettering, this same scene appears again and again on transfer ware, as Alloway Kirk.
On the reverse, is written "Made from the Wood of the Land of Burns." The clasp mechanism is missing the hook that would hold the pin in place. Otherwise, it is in excellent overall condition with no known flaws but please look at the pictures to see the overall condition.
