Magnificently Colorful Pair Chinese Porcelain Satsuma-style Floor Vases: Chinese.
This stately pair of nominal 24” floor vases/temple jars is brightly hued in shades of red, blue, yellow, clay, orange, green an rose. Featuring garden scenes of seven women picking plums on the two faces of the jars, Jacobean floral panels on the sides are painted against onyx backgrounds. Traditional satsuma images and “dotting” are prevalent.
These jars are transferware with hand-applied elements. Actual measurements are 23.25” tall from base to lip, 11” diameter at waist, 6.75” at the collared mouth, and 6” at the base. Two small blemishes are evident: one is a short area of missing gold border, and the other is a paint touch up from a previous owner. Both are shown in pictures 11 and 12.
All of our porcelains are carefully hand-cleaned and sanitized prior to listing, sale and shipment. All sales are final, no returns.
