    Description

Delta Line Cruise Ship Complimentary Wash Cloth.
The Mississippi Shipping Company of New Orleans introduced three revolutionary passenger-cargo ships to its South American services in the post-war years of the 1940s. In keeping with the company trade name, “Delta Line”, their three new ships were all given “Del” names. Thus the ships were named SS Del Norte, SS Del Sud and SS Del Mar, and they were without a doubt the most distinctive and revolutionary vessels in their time: 1946 - 1967.
This package is a new, never opened, complimentary wash cloth that was found in every stateroom - a unique item from around 1957. The glassine envelope is 3 1/2” x 6 1/4” but the size of the washcloth is unknown. The envelope has yellow it with age, and it is unknown if the paper has stained the washcloth.
