    Description

Chinese Famille Rose 'Nine Peaches' Signed Oriental Hand-Painted Bottle Vase; 20 1/2" Tall in Fitted Storage Case; New Vintage Condition
    • Description: Bottle Vase with rounded body rising from a recessed base to a tall slightly flaring cylindrical neck.  The delicately rounded sides of the vase are painted on the exterior with blossoming and flowering peach branches and leafy stems where three (3) iron red bats fly amid the pink blossoms and Nine Peaches placed around the body.
The bats and nine peaches depicted on the vase are motifs filled with auspicious meaning. In Chinese, the words for bat and for happiness are pronounced fu. Peaches symbolize immortality.
Vase and Storage Case Total Approximately 35 pounds.
    • Makers Mark;  Qing dynasty (1644–1911), Qianlong mark and period (1736–95) - however, many of these vases were created for export in the mid-century 1950s.  While this piece has the Qianlong mark of the 1700's there is not paperwork to support that period and my China-based contact states we should instead assume the more modern period - research found it identified as Qianlong UB 6 character seal mark, handwritten  – 1860s-1920s.
    • Status: One-of-a-Kind Artist Piece; no two are alike
    • Dimensions - approximate;  20 1/2" tall table to top of rim x 13" diameter.  4 1/2" diameter rim and Diam. of foot 6 1/4".
    • Condition;  Vase - Excellent - As New;  No Chips, Cracks, Scratches or Crazing - No Mends, No Repairs!     Storage Case - (see photos) Good Condition; has a formed bright yellow interior base to hold the vase but the top form is missing.  A modern U-line form will be used to secure the vase for shipment and storage.  The case shows edge wear of the dark blue material and some dark staining - the bottom shows dark markings.  If you would like more photos, please contact me.

Note There are two (2) of these vases listed - the other is from the 1950s export period because of the Simplified Chinese characters on the piece.  If you choose to purchase both vases on the same order an additional 20% discount of the total price will be refunded to you as soon as they ship.

We ship same or next business day and all sales are final, no returns.  Carefully review photos and read descriptions to help determine condition and value.  Please, ask questions and/or request additional photos, if needed - every attempt is made to describe them accurately with the photos provided as part of their description.
Most items are vintage, or gently used.  They come from personal and family cupboards, auctions and sometimes estate sales; so therefore may show some wear appropriate for their age.  They are sold in their 'As Is - As Found' state though many are in 'As New, Never Used' condition because they actually were unused and cherished for so long.  Cleaning is left up to the new owner, you are much better qualified to determine your preferred methods.
Great care is taken when packaging items on their way to you!
