    Description

Up for auction a small hexagonal ginger jar in a green Shiwan ash glaze.  This jar gives the appearance of age, but I believe this is a reproduction of a Ming Dynasty jar.  The eight panels have low relief floral patterns, with each panel different.
The jar measures 3 5/8" high, lip diameter is 2 5/16" in diameter, 4 5/16" across from corner to corner and weighs 14.2 ounces prior to packing for shipping.  Will ship in a 6x6x6 box.
This piece is in good preowned condition without cracks or repairs.  As mentioned, I believe this is a modern representation of a Ming Dynasty Shiwan glazed jar, cunningly executed.  With that being said, I also believe the ding on the shoulder, the roughness of the pottery, the bits and pieces of extra clay on the surface are all parts of the artifice to give semblance of age.  The interior brown glaze has a couple of skips on the mouth of the jar and the interior bottom glaze is rough with bubbles and pooling.
Happy to combine shipping, please allow us to send a revised invoice so the postage will be correct.  Thank you for looking.
