Antique Art Deco Maritime United Fruit CO Nude Woman Sea Nymph Silver Plate Large 27 inch Trophy
Trophy reads:
MARITIME ATHLETIC ASS'N, 1938 - 1939 BOWLING TOURNAMENT, WON BY, UNITED FRUIT Co.
The trophy depicts a winged sea nymph riding an ocean wave holding a flaming torch or a crown with spikes on top. It is very detailed.
This trophy is very large and heavy and m
easures 27 inches high, base is 6 inches across and weighs 9 pounds without packaging.
Trophy is made out of silver plate and the tag on the base reads:
IS INTERNATIONAL SILVER COMPANY 1450 TROPHY
There is tarnishing and surface dirt and it will need to be cleaned and polished.
Have found no major dings or dents. The sea nymph turns around, which we think it was made this way.
We acquired this trophy from a local estate sale of a top executive for Great White Fleet, United Fruit Company which the brand name change to Chiquita Bananas.
You may do an internet search for more history on the Great White Fleet, United Fruit Company, Steamship Service. The company offered  world wide cruise service for passengers
. We could not find any information on the bowling tournament.
This trophy is beautiful and will enhance a collection.
