    Age/Origin:
My parents were avid collectors of both Japanese and
    Chinese
Cloisonné.  Some were true antiques, some are merely vintage, roughly from the time between 1950s to 1980s.  Based upon appearance, lack of clear maker markings, and quality, I believe these to be mid-century, from 1950-1979.
    Regardless
, these are unique and one-of-a-kind items you cannot get today.
    One-of-a-Kind:
    Like all true, hand-enameled c
    loisonné, these
items are unique - one-of-a-kind - please see the photos for colors, any unique characteristics, or subtle imperfections.  The items pictures are
    exactly
the items you will receive.  I do not accept returns.
Want a different color or style?
I have several different styles and even subtle color variations available - please see my other auctions if you want something different.  However, I have limited stock, and all are for sale now - once these are sold, I have no more.
    What is Cloisonné?
The word comes from the French meaning "enclosed", and is a ancient metal and enamel technique in which "compartments" or cells are added to a metal object such as a metal vase or bowl.  This is done by soldering to the vessel thin silver or gold or brass wires or strips on edge. These are visible in the finished piece, separating the different compartments.  Colored enamel powder is then used to fill the cells.  The entire item is then fired in a kiln and subsequently polished.  The result is a unique item which is functional, durable, and quite beautiful.
