Description
Up for auction is my 1979 MGB. Car has very low miles with 95,721 showing on the odometer. Much time and dollars have been spent on her so please read the entire auction before bidding. Selling due to major life changes so my loss is your gain.If your looking at this auction then you know a "No Reserve" auction with a starting bid of just .00 is
extremely
rare thing to see, even more rare to see one in this condition / work completed selling at No Reserve.
Highest bidder at the end of the auction takes her home.
Mechanicals:
The car runs and sounds great. Starts right up with no issues, smoke or ticking noises. Holds strong oil pressure right around 72 lbs. The following work was recently completed: Rebuilt carburetor, new gas filter, new gas tank, new fuel line, new fuel pump, new fuel sending unit, new fuel tank filler hose, new gas cap, newer battery, fresh tune up, oil change, new air filter, coolant hose and fluid replaced, new radiator cap, new thermostat, new temperature sending unit, new heater control valve, new stainless steal oil pressure hose, valve adjustment, valve cover & cap, valve cover gasket, new lower ball joints, new steering rack boots, new brake master cylinder, new front brake rotors, new front brake pads, new front brake hoses, new rear brake wheel cylinders, new rear brake shoes, new rear brake drums, new rear brake lines and recent new radial tires. Previous owner stated he had the engine rebuilt and she sure sounds and runs like it was but I have no documentation proving it was. Again, very strong engine and oil pressure. If you know these cars than you know how much all this work cost and how important it is to have it all done before buying an MGB.
Exterior
:
Driver quality car. Car sits on the ground as it should with no leaning or sagging issues. Straight body, rocker panels and jack points. Overall straight body. Nice door and panel fit. Nice front & rear lower valances and bumpers. Again, a driver quality car not a show car. Has some small flaws and imperfections.
Interior: In good overall condition as seen in the photos. Has nice carpet and new seat belts.
Electrical's: All exterior running lights, front and rear turn signals, licence plate lights, back up lights, head lights, wipers and stereo are in working order.
Gauges: All gauges are correct "Smith" brand. All working at this time. See auction photos. Heck even the original clock works.
Covers: The car comes with both a top / boot cover and a Tonneau / full cockpit cover.
Soft Top: I have the soft top frame, header rail and canvas for the car. Canvas is what I'd call "fair" but should be replaced at some point. The soft top is off the car now but hope to have it re installed by auctions end. I'm willing to split the cost of a New Robbins soft top with the new owner. Comes with easy to follow do it yourself install instructions.
Trunk: The trunk is rock solid. Comes with a spare wheel & tire, original jack, lug wrench and stowage bag. And the original top cover support rails and original stowage bag. New trunk seal as well.
Other: Purchased the car from a long time friend and recent major life changes force sale. Car comes with a clean / clear / open SC state issued title and Bill of Sale.

In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they very from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding.
If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding.
Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding. Not responsible if I've missed anything.
I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I know how hard it is to purchase a car online so please ask any and all questions you have prior to bidding or if you can come see the car for yourself ( I really encourage you to do so ) as I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. She's a 42+ year old car in driver quality condition. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the car I'm selling her as in "As Is" condition and mileage exempt. A 0 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auctions end via PayPal. If you don't have a PayPal account then don't bid.
