FUN IN THE SUN!
A nicely sorted, privately owned, super fun 1978MGB. This mustard yellow 4-speed MG is a blast to drive. I purchased the car in 2005from someone who had painstakingly gone over the car and sorted everything tomake it a reliable daily driver, and boy did he do a great job!
All of the electronics work (shocking, I know!)and he even installed a removable AM/FM/CD player. Any rust issues wereaddressed. Aside from a couple of minor blemishes -- a
very
minor whammy on thepassenger side front fender and some doofus trying to close the trunk without pressingin the support release button -- the body is in excellent shape (the minorissue with the trunk lid is merely cosmetic -- it does not leak). The convertibletop is in excellent condition. The seats have cloth covers on them as theoriginal vinyl seat had started to crack … and let’s be honest, hot cloth is muchmore comfortable to sit on than hot vinyl!
The car has driven like a champ since they dayI bought it. It has been garage-kept for the past 16 years. It was regularlyserviced and driven each year during the top-down-season from 2005 until 2014, whenI was forced to leave it laid up one spring. Deciding to finally part with thisbeauty, I took it to my mechanic in May and he went over it thoroughly.
This year we replaced the battery, water pump,alternator belt, fuel pump, tires, front rotors, brake hoses, seat belts, andmore. There are no significant rust issues (see photos -- doglegs and rockers,which are notorious for rust, are in great shape). The exhaust system stilllooks brand new! (Note: the tires were replaced AFTER these photos were taken).
Always garage-kept, it IS a 43-year-old car, withjust over 100,000 miles on it, so buyers are encouraged to look it over beforepurchasing. The car comes with a full-size spare (I had the rim media blastedand repainted, and mounted a new tire on it, too), the jack and relatedequipment, plus the original Driver’s Handbook.
This car is a blast to drive. Put the top down,pick a nice two-lane road, and have fun.

The car is listed elsewhere, and I
reserve the right toend the listing early or to cancel any and all bids/offers. It is sold AS-ISWHERE-IS. Consider having a third-party inspection and please address anyconcerns PRIOR to purchase. It is the sole responsibility of the purchaserto verify the vehicle’s condition and options/features before the sale ends. Ifyou choose to waive an inspection, AS-IS WHERE-IS is still enforced.
Irequire a non-refundable 0 deposit within 48 hours of the close of theauction. The deposit is a commitment to purchase and is applied towardsthe purchase price. The commitment to purchase is not contingent uponinspection, financing, or any other terms or conditions. You will need topay the remaining balance within 7 days of the end of the auction. If thedeposit and/or full payment are not provided within said time frame, the MG will be re-listed and transaction will be considered null andvoid. The deposit will not be refunded.
The price does notinclude shipping. All shipping costs are the purchaser’s responsibility. Wewill work with whichever shipper/courier the purchaser selects, and are happyto meet them at a nearby shopping center to make loading a breeze. Thepurchaser must contact us with shipping details within 7 days of the close ofthe auction, and the car much be picked up within 30 days of the close of the auction.
