    Description

You are looking at a mostly original 1964 MGB Roadster.  This is a very good example of an early "pullhandle" MGB.     I have owned this car about 6 years.   This car has been repainted sometime a long time ago, and it was an amateurish paint job that has a fair amount of blemishes and discolorations..   But it doesn't look horrible for what it is.  I have polished it and touched it up.  Other than that the car has never been restored and is original.      The Chrome trim is decent with some pitting and dings.       The interior is original.   The leather seats are rip free and are still very soft and comfortable.    The Dash, and door panels are as original and still in presentable condition.       This car was never carpeted, except for the transmission tunnel,  the inner rocker panels are painted the same as the exterior and the car still has most of its original red rubber floor mats that came from the factory.     The black rubber mats in the foot wells now are replacement.        The floor panels have some light surface rust,  and some areas have some pin holes...    But the original floors are solid,  along with the original rocker panels, inner rockers panels etc.       The car has some isolated small bubbles of rust..   But the car is 96-98%   rust free!     You will have a hard time finding an original Pullhandle MGB this solid,  anywhere.                  There is a few light dents and scratches..    The car has Loads of patina.
The Car is not matching numbers,   The engine is a later 5 main bearing engine # 18gb-u-h-37712,    which is 65'-66'.    The car has a Weber 38/38 kit installed with a heat wrapped header.    The car starts and runs very well,    very good oil pressure.    The car is still positive ground with the original generator etc.   A single small 12 volt battery is in one of the original battery holds,   the other is empty storage (plastic liners).  The car is fast and fun and can be tossed around like an early MGB should,    suspension and steering is tight..     Good brakes, Good clutch, good power.           The original Carbs are included with the car,  they are spotlessly rebuilt and reshafted.      I prefer the weber 38/38 myself.         The exhaust sound right,  but is probably a little loud,  not stupid loud.
In the past few years the following have been replaced:   New brake master cylinder, soft brake lines,  rear cylinders , front pads.   New clutch master and slave.   New water pump, hoses and belts,  new electric fuel pump.   original gas tank was boiled out and lined.    New tires.  new ignition, distributer to plugs.   new rear leaf spring and shock links.
My intention was to drive the car as is until I was ready to strip off all the trim and have the paint stripped and redone,   ( the whole rabbit hole of home restoration)  ...  So I have been slowly amassing a bunch of new parts,  That includes most of what is needed to replace the interior:   I Wanted a standard black vinyl interior with white piping...     new Black carpet kit (interior and trunk)   new door panels (Black with white piping)    and new seat upholstery,  black Vinyl with white piping,   and a new Victoria kit to replace the dash pad and dash top.   along with bags of other small parts ordered over that years..   easily 00 in new parts.
The car includes  a good spare tire,    a good black tonneau cover,  the original red top cover,   The tonneau metal frame and the original metal top frame.
Presently the car has no top, just the tonneau cover.    the metal top frame is in good order, but no soft top is included.
All light work and have been gone thru.     The Speedometer and the tachometer BOTH do not work!    The fuel gauge works (somewhat)   however the oil pressure/ coolant temp gauge works well and seems to be accurate.     horn works.       Message me for lots of additional pictures,   underneath too,    also I can email you videos of the car running and driving.
NO RESERVE AUCTION,  the highest bidder wins the car.        This is a very good example of an early MGB.  The car runs and drive very well,   if you lived a few hundred miles away you could drive it home, no issue.    The car drips a little oil,  But the car is reliable and solid.           Clean Illinois title in my name.
I am located about 90 minutes Southwest of Chicago.  You are welcome to come and inspect the car.           All valid forms of payment are fine but I will not release the car unless I'm satisfied that I have been paid.    NO SHIPPING!     You are responsible to get the car home!    I will gladly work with YOUR shipper,  no problem,   and I will store the car indoors for free until the pickup is made.        For shipping I can stuff the interior and the trunk with all the new parts..   it will be tight!
This is a 57 year old mostly original British sports car    Please understand what you are bidding on!!      Thank you.
