Description
This is an original circa 1880's-1890's mechanical rotating wheel Victorian advertising card. When the wheel is manually rotated seven different types of shoes show in the opening at the bottom. This rare & very attractive card advertises Pingree & Smith's boots & shoes. The card mentions the main branch of the business which was located in Detroit, Michigan on both the front & the back of the card. The front also mentions "For Sale By Lockwood & Smith Milan, Ohio."The card which is square with a circular wheel measures 4 5/16 inches tall by 4 5/16 inches wide. There is minor wear to the edges & corners & there are a full bumps. There is a little wear to the litho surface at the top right corner. There is a tiny 1/16 inch tear at the bottom border. The back has some brown age spots. This beautiful mechanical card has optimum rich original colors with absolutely no fading. An exceptional ad card with superb details.
