    Description

1686 France-American Indian Fur Trade Tomahawk Blade. OBVERSE: FRENCH ROYAL SEAL with hand stamped date "1686", with 2 French hallmarks "P.H" (Pierre Huguet dit Latour, Montreal, Canada, worked from circa 1779 to 1829) and a further French hallmark.  REVERSE: Hand stamped "Montreal 1686 , PAIX (Peace) Amite (Friendship)".
It is my observation and comparison that the date stamps were probably stamped by the Somers Mountain Museum (circa 1969) in a (misplaced) effort to keep the item and the origin of the Item, together.
Please see high resolution photos to form your own opinion.
Provenance originally from the Somers Mountain Museum, collections of American Indian Historians Tex Mulnite (deceased) and Chet Mulka (Both of Connecticut). Free USPS priority shipping, signature required. 2 Week 100% money back guarantee ( minus shipping)
. If you have any shred of doubt about the authenticity, please do not bid!
